Ever since I bought the car last year I noticed foam particles next to the seats that continued to flake off. I could also see the shape was off as if a 250 lb guy was jumping into the seats. The covers were in good shape but the color was not in keeping with my blue car and blue carpeting/interior. Last year I bought a seat foam kit and was waiting until after the summer season to have them rebuilt. We moved out office to a heavy auto supplier job shop area. I found Tommy's Upholstery and started talking about a rebuild. They had talked about redoing other British cars and one of the guys had an MG Midget. So I felt comfortable with them. I wanted Black Vinyl with piping to match the car color (Taurus Denim Blue). After looking over the options I picked a subtle grain pattern and left touch up paint for Tom to match.
I remove the seats ( tight fit for wrench - stubby wrench and my Girlfriend 11 year old son to the rescue). Here are the before pictures. Note the loose straps and disintegrating foam. The back support bar in the middle of the driver seat was also broken. The rust was a concern as well. Notice the clean seat frame. The great PO. After removing the covers and foam Tommy returned them for me to refurbish.
